Classroom Management

My mentor teacher's style uses a more permissive than autocratic style when managing the classroom.  Perhaps stemming from his extensive experience working with the public in restaurants, Mr. K has the ability to alter his style based on the temperament of the class or the particular day's lesson.  He easily reprimands students' behavior interruptions through a hand on a shoulder during a lecture or moving desks.  He anticipates the antecedents of misbehavior before he needs to apply consequences.  Because of this, we have only encountered one serious issue, which stemmed more from a student's argument regarding a grading policy.
